Hello, my name is Karen and thank you for checking out my little website. I’m a full time Surgical Nurse and part time adventurer in glass.

I just love glass, in all its different forms. The interaction between light and color never fails to mesmerize. I was introduced to stained glass in the late 8 0’s when touring a production studio and have been hooked ever since. looking for a job after graduating Nursing school in the 90’s I wound up working part time at a wonderful studio in Fresno, California called Scarab Glassworks. The owner Susanne is an amazing artist, and I learned something new every day I was there. We did fusing, painting and lampwork in addition to traditional stained glass production and repair. I stayed there part time for the next 25 years, and it became my creative outlet and mental health retreat. It was a sad (but well deserved after 45 years!) day when she retired and closed the business, but it was also the push I needed to move, and we ended up in beautiful southern Utah.

These days I divide my time between nursing, family, exploring our new home and creating in the studio. Half the fun of making art is seeing someone light up when a piece resonates with them. Maybe something here will call to you.
